Reconciliation

It is our goal to help your children recognize the need for forgiveness, exploring the meaning of the symbols, gestures, prayers, and Scriptures of the Rite.  Parents are expected to be involved in preparations for their child’s readiness to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation.  It is the primary duty of parents, and those who take the place of parents, the Pastor and Catechists to help our students prepare for this Sacrament.  It is expected that the family will attend Mass on a regular basis.

In accordance with the Diocesan Policy, children are encouraged to prepare for the Sacrament of Reconciliation (Penance) as they near the age of seven (normally the second grade).  Students must complete one full year of Faith Formation or be enrolled in the Catholic School the year immediately prior to the year he/she prepares to receive the sacrament.

We begin our First Reconciliation classes in the month of October.  If you didn’t have a chance to register, please make sure you call Don Cass, our Faith Formation Coordinator, at 315-781-2624 by October 1st.

We so look forward to taking this journey together.
