+ Extra fees may be needed for special assistance to non-parish clergy, musicians, etc.

+ Payment of the total due should be received at the parish office (130 Exchange St.) at least 30 days before the wedding in a single check to “Our Lady of Peace Parish.”

+ Destination Weddings:

For weddings of non-parishioners:

  • Couples are expected to participate in the Marriage Preparation process within the parish in which they currently reside.  The necessary paperwork is to be completed with their priest and the requirement for the Pre-Cana workshop is to be satisfied.  If your parish minister has any questions please have him/her call the Parish Office of Our Lady of Peace, Geneva and speak to one of our priests. (315-789-0930/789-1124)
  • The couple is urged to bring their own Roman Catholic Priest or Deacon to preside at the wedding.

+ Correct addresses for invitations:

You may have all your paperwork completed with your parish priest where you are living or here with us if you can come to Geneva 3-4 times. Our diocese will accept another diocese’s forms and procedures since they are all very similar. Call soon for an appointment to get started, especially to locate and register for a near-by Pre Cana.

What is required is the “Premarital Investigation” (a questionnaire for bride and groom witnessed by the priest/deacon), newly issued Baptism certificates for both bride and groom, Pre Cana certificate, FOCCUS inventory statement of completion from priest/deacon. If a dispensation is required contact this parish soon to discuss obtaining it here within the Diocese of Rochester, but if you both are baptized Roman Catholics and neither of you have ever been married before, no dispensation will be needed.

Eight weeks before your wedding date all documents must be mailed by the priest or deacon preparing you to:

Rev. Daniel Condon, Chancellor
Diocese of Rochester
1150 Buffalo Rd.
Rochester NY 14624

Please let us know as early as possible if you are inviting a priest or deacon to witness and preside at your wedding. Please contact us directly about the planning booklet we use for you to plan the ceremony.
